Grampy

This is just a quick update about my Grampy, who (for those have not seen the previous posts) is currently in  the ITU in Hospital after surgeries following a rupture in his abdominal aorta on Saturday, 13.10.12.
The 3rd operation went as planned and they managed to perform an external procedure instead of an invasive surgery. He has been much more responsive in the last couple of days and is wiggling his fingers and toes, has his eye's open and has said peoples name's in recognition. Yesterday all machines except feeding tubes and an oxygen mask has been removed and he was sitting up in the bed, which is obviously a lot of progress, however today he has gone backwards a little, he is not awake like yesterday and sleeping instead. Perhaps it's exhaustion from being so alert yesterday? We just hope he doesn't slide into reverse after everything looked so positive. I'm hoping to be able to visit again next week when he is hopefully more conscious and stable; but it's baby steps, we have been told he will be in hospital for 6 weeks up to 3 months depending on his rate of recovery, so we have a long road ahead yet.
