Grampy improved dramatically over the weekend! Much to everyone's elation! As of Saturday morning he was sitting in the chair next to his bed, lucid, able to recognize and chat to his visitors, no machines now except the feeding tubes and an oxygen mask. He's got a long way to go before he'll be able to go home but this is a massive leap in the right direction. To think only a week ago he was completely unconscious, on dialysis, breathing apparatus, and a whole host of IV's and medications, and the doctors gave him 50% chance. It's incredible to see. The staff in the ITU have been absolutely amazing.
