I have been super excited about this for so long! Well, they have made us wait an entire year!!! This is the most highly anticipated being the one movie in the saga that we know has been adapted from the book. As all who have read it will know, it made great reading, but would not transfer to film. We are all going into the theater blind as to what they've done with it and where they've taken the story. Will they make huge adaptations? Will they have a plot change? What will the outcome be?
Last night I found out.
The have adapted it, definitely, but wow does it ever work!! It's shocking, it's romantic, it makes you nervous, makes you laugh, and may well make you cry! This is a Must Watch movie, and it's probably my favorite of the saga, it has action and that brooding vampire atmosphere we all love, but it hasn't lost any of the love story or the character that we all adore it for. It has lots of action and breath catching moments, the love making scene has been respectfully and tastefully shot, making it more sensual and sexy. The introduction of new characters has been given plenty of time and purpose, we learn a lot about them and they have some in depth parts to the plot. The Volturi and specifically Aro, have some brilliant moments in this too, just that hint of comedy is brilliantly worthwhile, Aro is crazy, terrifying and hilarious all at the same time. Most importantly, the change in Bella has been really well done, she's different, but not so different that we lose the Bella we all know, she's still stubborn but now she's tougher, more confident and has the power to back it up, she is one vampire that will not be messed with, there is a brilliant moment between her and Jane, and also early on with Edward and Jacob that is just wonderful.
Kristen Stewart was right, Bella was born to be a vampire!
