In my teens I became really interested in pagan beliefs and was actively practicing, I don't really know where I first became aware of it, but I know myself and my close friend developed an attachment to what is a religion we could believe in, one that made sense, and I suppose to an extent grounded us throughout our adolescence.
It sort of slipped away over the years although I am still very fond of candles and my living room is covered in them, - that was my main form of Wicca as a teenager - candle rituals. Despite this, I have never forgotten my beliefs or labeled them as 'just a phase' and have also kept my books safe.
I was talking to a friend recently who said she'd had her cards read and this got me into reminiscing of times gone by. Now I'm going to get my books out, blow off the dust and have a good old catch up and get back into practice. I am fortunate enough to live very close to some of the religious sites associated with paganism, like Avebury and Stonehenge and what with Samhain fast approaching, it seems the perfect time to re-familiarize myself of what was once second nature.
