Bittersweet

It was my last day at work today. Seven whole years, and one month. I don't think the finality of it has sunk in yet, even though I had to clear my desk, and hand in my pokey stick and making boards....Give back my key.  :(  I even left some graffiti under the table - Kat waz ere.....

All the girls (and boys) gave me a signed card and cakes were made to mark the occasion. My bosses bought me flowers and Champagne and gave me a personal card from them too.

It's a bit surreal. I started at 18, fresh from college and intending on hopping on the Uni train within twelve months after earning some money towards it. After reviews from friends I changed my mind about Uni and 7 years later here I am, just heading out the back door of chocolate land and stepping into the bright light of a new start at the gigantic empire that is apetito; The home of ready meals for Wiltshire Farm Foods, Hospitals and Meals on Wheels. In 6 months I'll be a fully qualified Quality Assurance Technician with a fairly good salary. As my husband also works there - He's a Laboratory Technician - Next Christmas, between us we will take home around £800-1000 in bonuses. Now that's a bloody good shopping trip in the January sales!!
