Good Eats & other Bath related Blabber

Been into the city of Bath today. Bought mum lunch in Las Iguanas. We shared 5 Tapas dishes  & certain cocktails (non-alcoholic also available) were on Happy Hour deals - By One Get One Free 12 - 7pm. Plus dessert each and 2 café con leche, came to around £33. Not Bad I think. The only thing I'd say they can do slightly differently is the Gambas as they come whole, and I'd prefer them in the shelled & sizzling in garlic and chili oil version. Though all was delicious & filling.
My other favourite place to go food wise is TGI Friday's. I am a lover of the Jack Daniels Shrimp dish. They are generous with their portions & are another restaurant who know their way around more than a few cocktails.
As far as the city goes, there is plenty to see, from the Abbey & The Roman Baths to a trip to the Thermae Spa with it's rooftop heated pool - heated by the natural springs. The Roman Baths can also be hired for weddings if people so choose.  Bath is a great shopping city also, with a good variety of well known chains as well as some boutiques. The new Southgate Shopping Center has brought in some new shops to Bath, such as All Saints, Hotel Chocolat, Debenhams, Hollister, Urban Outfitters, Kurt Geiger & Calvin Klein. It has been built with consideration to the traditional Georgian architecture of the rest of the city, which is truly wonderful to look at, especially around the courtyard to the Abby. The Bath Christmas Market held from late November to early December, for around 3 weeks is also worth a trip, unique stalls with beautiful gifts and personal treats, with their sheds all lit with fairy lights, trading their wares, to the appetizing smells of mulled wine, Caramelized nuts & German sausage.  It really is a treat!
