Bath Christmas Lights

This year's Light event is being hosted this evening by Matt Baker and Alex Jones and broadcast Live on The One Show. Comedian John Bishop is making an appearance and is the celebrity turning on the Bath Christmas Light's this year.

This event usually draws a large crowd, and I'm sure this year will be no exception with such a public UK broadcast and a popular stand up to do the honors. The rickshaw race for Children in Need is also a big part of tonight's broadcast and switching on with the contestants following a route through the city center as part of their charity attempt.
You can find out more information below if you follow the link to the official Bath website.

A few years ago I joined the enormous crowd that turned out to see Nicholas Cage switch on the lights of our glorious local city, he has a personal connection to Bath himself having owned Midford Castle as well as a town house in The Circus in the city center in the past. I have to admit I am a fan of his, and I'd previously missed an opportunity to see him in the flesh when he came for a late evening meeting at the Chocolate Factory where I worked for 7 years to arrange an order for chocolates of his castle to be made for friends and family.
I couldn't miss another chance to see him in reality, especially so locally, and I am glad I did. He had some fond words to say about our lovely city and it was amazing to see the street filled with thousands of people to see him.
