Today is my Dad's 57th Birthday. He's on holiday in Paignton with his girlfriend, she arranged the holiday as a surprise for him. When I rang him this evening they were regaining their youth in an amusement arcade. They'd missed the last bus back to the campsite and were stuck on the sea front. - not a bad place to get stuck. Passing the time until they wanted to get a taxi they had enjoyed a sea food dinner and were probably playing air hockey.
As a gift I gave him some ginger cake, something he has a little penchant for, and The Black Keys El Camino album, which I really hope he likes. - I'm not even sure he even knows who they are, but he's a fan of old rock like Def Leppard, Status Quo, and Pink Floyd, so I figure The Keys should be right up his street. Plus I adore them, and as I grew up with my Dad's influence, he should too. At least, this is my logic.
Anyway, this is just a tribute post for him, as he really is amazing, and I love him to bits, he's always there for me, and he deserves a cracking good birthday.
